El Nido, “the nest,” is a local surfer’s dream surfhouse come true. The property consists of a main house and three apartments created for the owner’s children (known as “three little birds” that you can see resembled in one of the surfboard artwork).
Design Style: Coastal Chic
The design goes beyond traditional beach-themed décor by blending natural textures, relaxed finishes, and a calm palette to create a space that feels light, livable, and elevated.
Details and Materials:
We used a blend of light wood furniture, natural fiber lamps, jute rugs, and airy linen textiles to create a laid-back, organic feel. The space features custom reclaimed wood pieces by Leo Malavé and custom-crafted surfboards used as art elements to honor the family’s love for the sport.
My family bought a house in Rincón and hired Wawa for decluttering, staging, and decoration. It was a four-plex in very poor condition, and in just four months she transformed it into a true home. Anything that seems impossible, she finds a way to make it happen. She has an incredible eye for detail and a level of efficiency you rarely see. On top of that, she has an amazing network of contacts! Whether it’s property management, decorating, staging, or any challenge that comes her way, Wawa always delivers and exceeds expectations. I recommend her with my eyes closed!!!
